The Jury

On April 30 the Winner of the fifth edition of the Shaping Surfaces competition by Cleaf will be unveiled.
The monthly awarded projects will be evaluated by a jury of multidisciplinary professionals of the design sector to identify the winning one.The jury will take into consideration both the innovation of the interior design and the best use of Cleaf Surfaces.

Today we present the members of the jury:

Francesca Gastone has a foundation in architecture from the Milan Polytechnic and has undertaken specialist training in editorial illustration. She draws inspiration from her urban experiences in cities like São Paulo and Hong Kong. Her illustrations capture the essence of human interactions and emotions while highlighting the uniqueness of individuals within the crowd while her architectural training infuses her work with a keen sense of spatial awareness and composition.

Francesca Molteni graduated in Philosophy from the University of Milan and studied film production at New York University. Since 2002 she has been producing and directing documentaries, TV formats and videos, as well as curating design exhibitions. In 2009 she founded the production company MUSE Factory of Projects in Milan.In 2012, she received the Premio per l’Innovazione del Presidente della Repubblica Italiana, the honourable mention of the Compasso d’Oro and the Cathay Pacific Award for women entrepreneurs. She teaches at Milan Polytechnic and collaborates with La Repubblica, D La Repubblica delle Donne, Door, Elle Decor.

Gianluca Bellomo is an Italian photographer based in Milan.He took his first steps working with light in a photographic studio. He came into contact with several photographers and was captivated by the complexity and beauty of the craft. He embarked on a photographic career and specialised in design and interior photography but also lends his eye to fashion. He prefers simple but profound images and with each of his shots he tries to share an authentic story by giving voice to his inner perceptions. His work has been published in magazines such as Elle Decor, Cabana Magazine, Living, Perimetro.

Margherita Palli is a set designer from Ticino, she studied in Switzerland and Italy, where she graduated in set design at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in 1976. In 1984 she opened her own studio, collaborating with many directors. During these same years, she also worked on exhibition design projects for art exhibitions, collaborated with architect Italo Rota’s studio and curated the installation of W. Women in Italian Design, Design Museum Nona at the Milan Triennale. Since 1991 she has dedicated herself to teaching: she is Advisory Leader of the three-year Scenography course at the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti Milano NABA and has been a professor at the Academy of Architecture of the Università della Svizzera Italiana in Mendrisio and at the IUAV University in Venice.

Andrea Martinelli is the Industrial Director of Cleaf. He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Padua and a strong passion for manufacturing. He is interested in developing effective, efficient and robust methods to govern production contexts and implement the group’s strategy using the most suitable solutions.
